The Lockdown ultra violence series
In these works domestic violence becomes a prevalent theme spurred on from the days of Covid & Lockdowns. The world gone mad; a world we entered and cannot seem to exit. For me, an awareness was unleashed; a powerful theme that resonates hard and true.
Abstract forces dictate the energy with which these were painted; conveying moods of violence, stress and abuse both physical and mental.

A concern for the earth's future and inspiration drawn from exposure to nature's ever shifting moods and intense elements, sets the tone for much of my work - a metaphorical platform that lends itself to abstraction and expressive brushstrokes. The frequent appearance of darker elements in my work - jungle predators, ominous skies and stormy weather - allude to a concern for a world in which we are simultaneously creating and destroying. Taken together, these elements provide a visual language for my art and personal expression - a painterly translation of that which words often cannot capture.
